KISS PREP VEGAS RESIDENCY (by Paul Cashmere -undercover.com.au)
It appears Kiss will be the next major act to lock into Las Vegas for a residency. Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are reported to be in negotiations to create a Vegas show with a $50 million budget. According to the Las Vegas Review Journal the show is expected to be called ‘Kiss: Carnival of Souls’. Stanley and Simmons are said to be working on the project with comic book publisher Radical Publishing and Singapore company Storm Lion. Radical’s Barry Levine told the Review Journal "It involves every aspect of music, movement, lighting, stage design and special effects. Since Kiss is the epitome of theatrical rock, we need to make sure it represents the Kiss brand. The Kiss brand has endured and sustained itself like no other group for the past 35 years." The show is expected to open in 2011.

NEW KISS ALBUM - SONIC BOOM REVIEW (Metal Music ExaminerMelanie Falina)
It's been more than a decade since KISS' last studio album.  Eleven years is a decent chunk of time on most scales - but for KISS fans this has seemed an eternity.
Recent solo albums by both Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley helped to ease the pain somewhat, but then also had some KISS fans wondering, 'Well, why not a new KISS album?'
When KISS announced they were to begin working on a new album excitement spread like wildfire through the KISS Army, but there were those who skeptically held the stance that they'd believe it when they saw it - or, in this case, heard it.
Well the wait, the wondering, and the disbelieving is about to come to an end on October 6.  Produced by KISS' own Paul Stanley, Sonic Boom is on its way.
The most recent musical products we've had from these guys were Paul Stanley's solo release Live To Win and Gene Simmons' solo album A**h*le.  Stanley's was emotion, Simmons' was fun - and now with Sonic Boom those influences bond and yet include so much more. Sonic Boom is a sexy album packed with good quality songs that insight repeat listening.  It's a great blend of old KISS, modern KISS, and even - - - dare it be said?  - Some brand spanking new KISS sounds as well. KISS, in their 35 years, has gone on an amazing journey and has a rich, full history.  And some KISS fans are devoted, almost cult-like followers, but then there are some who will vehemently dislike any new release simply because it's not a repeat of Destroyer or KISS (the 1974 self-titled debut release).  No one can make everyone happy, but Sonic Boom delivers the goods that most KISS fans will receive quite warmly. Sonic Boom will be available exclusively at Walmart (stores and online) and Sam's Club in the U.S. and Canada.  The album package is a 3-disc set that will include - in addition to Sonic Boom's 11 new songs - Kiss Klassics - a 15-track, re-recorded greatest hits CD, a live concert DVD that was recorded in Buenos Aires, Argentina earlier this year, and a 20-page booklet.
The countdown continues but we're almost ready for take-off.

KISS TOUR 2010 IN THE WORKS
Since KISS hit Europe last year lot of rumors started swirling soon after about an early come back during 2009 and possible dates in Japan and South America. While in Italy promoting the Verona gig Tommy Thayer, talking to a local radio station, revealed that Japan dates were in the works but still to be defined as well as the South American ones. We all know that the South American leg of the Alive35 Tour did happened, and what a success!!! Still remains Japan to be conquered again. Paul Stanley revealed to Classic rock magazine on November 17 2008 “It looks like we'll be touring Europe as well as the States next year. You'll be getting more of what you saw at the Download festival this past summer - the KISS Alive! vibe amped up to the max. There might even be a new KISS album at some point. I have been ambivalent to the idea in the past but I'm much more open to it now.” Three days later Gene Simmons:”We've been talking with manager Doc McGhee about Europe and then doing a year-long tour maybe this coming summer, but we'll see." And one week later:”We’ll do a handful of shows just to keep in the game (next) summer, maybe 10 (dates), some Canadian shows. I know Halifax is one, but before you get out there and start the baseball season, they hold exhibition games, that’s what we’re doing. ’Cause once we go out, it’s going to be for a year and a half.” When KISS announced to the press the Alive35 North American Leg they stated that “the above dates are the 2009 leg of the KISS Alive 35 Tour, KISS will be touring all next year!”
Promoters in Europe are warming up so guys: GET READY to be melted away by a SONIC BOOM TOUR 2010!!!

PAUL STANLEY:IT'S TERRIFIC THAT ACE FREHLEY IS STILL ALIVE (from Classic Rock)
Paul Stanley doesn’t believe Ace Frehley’s new solo album will steal the limelight from Kiss’s comeback release, Sonic Boom. Ex-Kiss guitarist Frehley’s album, Anomaly, goes on sale on September 15, while Sonic Boom comes out on October 6.
Classic Rock asked Stanley this week whether he regarded the timing as unfortunate. Stanley replied: “For who? Look, it’s a hard one for me to answer. This album took us months to do, that album from what I understand took Ace 15 or 20 years to do. “I can’t say anything about the timing or the release schedule or what have you – I truly, always go back to: I hope Ace is happy, and I think it’s terrific that he’s alive. Anything else past that is a bonus. I wish him well.”

PAUL & GENE ON DETROIT RADIO TODAY (from kissonline.com)
Gene will be on Detroit's WCSX Radio Station this morning at 9 AM (EDT). LISTEN to the
interview here. Paul will appear on Detroit's WRIF Radio Station some time today, we believe in the 5 PM (EDT) hour. Click here to listen Paul's interview.

Gene announced Cobo Hall Show on Sptember 25th will be filmed for a live DVD.
Not sure though KISS will play any new songs from SONIC BOOM but we will see for sure new costumes and a brand new stage show.

The Space Ace will be also at Cobo Arena on Sept. 19 to sign autographs and promote his first solo album in 20 years, "Anomaly." The appearance will begin at 1 p.m. Kiss will rock Cobo on Sept. 25.

Ace recently talked to Rock n roll experience. This is what he said about KISS mOdern Day Delilah :"I thought it was a good song.Paul's always been a really good writer and the only thing that I would say that the song didn't live up to was the fact that I believe they said that all the new songs were going to sound like stuff from the '70s, and I didn't get that. The new song sounded like it could be something off an album they did in the '80s. That's what I got, but I thought it was a good song." Read the rest at this location

MODERN DAY DELILAH (Paul Stanley)
I still remember when I saw your face across the room
Told me to take you but the price of love would seal my doom
Pre-Chorus
I know the way you made the others break
But loving me would be your first mistake
Chorus
Same old ways, same old ways
Modern Day Delilah
It's time you learn to give
Queen to slave
Modern Day Delilah

Listen

You lived your glory in a liar’s haze you called the truth
The same old story of a social plan from wasted youth
Pre-Chorus
You thought that you could bring me to my knees
But who’s the one who’s crying baby please
Chorus
Same old ways, same old ways
Modern Day De lilah
It's time you learn to give
Queen to slave
Modern Day Delilah
Bridge
Just like the trigger of a loaded gun
You were the reason for the damage done
Too many lovers like a hunter’s prey
Not today

Solo

Pre-Chorus
I know the way you made the others break
But loving me would be your last mistake
It's time you learn to give
Chorus
Same old ways
Modern Day Delilah
Shame, shame, shame on you girl
Queen to slave, come on now
Modern Day Delilah
Yeah, yeah, it's time you learn to give
Same old ways, same old ways
Now you'll pay
Delilah
Queen to slave, love’s decayed

KISS WILL SONIC BOOM TO #1(Nicole Almonte consequenceofsound.net)
After months of hype bombs, KISS has finally titled and set a date for its forthcoming studio album, the long awaited follow up to 1998’s disappointing Psycho Circus. It’s called Sonic Boom, and like any other aging rock group today, it’s going to exclusively released via Wal-Mart, which should assist the band in finally topping the Billboard charts. No, they’ve never hit #1.
The fire breathing, blood spitting, pyrotechnics return in style, with a three-disc, deluxe package, stuffed with satanic goodies that will no doubt irk, well, maybe your grandmother. And in addition to the new 11 track album, the set will include rerecorded hits and a live DVD of our favorite dark knights — musical knights, of course.

SONIC BOOM TRACK-BY-TRACK REVIEW By Mark Eglinton / QUIETUS
Modern Day Delilah

Given the eleven years since their last barely passable studio album – 1998's Psycho Circus it seemed unlikely that Kiss would ever release another album of new material. Seemingly invigorated by a huge recent upsurge in interest in their hefty back catalogue by the younger generation of rock listeners into the studio they went, and six weeks later emerged armed with Sonic Boom. However, we didn't expect them to knock one out of the park this early with this heaving, sweating lump of fabulous groove straight from 1975. "Yeah yeah" are the first words to exit Stanley's mouth and immediately our ears are pricked to what is not stylistically a typical Kiss track, a circular, bass heavy riff driving everything along. The net result is your immediate desire to renew that direct debit to the' Kiss army' while arranging to graft eight or more inches of surplus off your backside on to your tongue—it really is that good.
Russian Roulette
The first of Gene Simmons's vocal contributions and this isn't at all bad. In fact the years have been pretty kind to the 'god of thunder', and his voice has actually developed more than a semblance of melody. It's raw, punchy and lyrically the usual innuendo ridden stuff "this is Russian roulette—one pull of the trigger is all you're gonna get" etc, which we've heard often before but here's it's done with a freshness of attitude that's been absent for a long, long time.
Never Enough
Classic Kiss and this could easily fit into their live set without being noticed as a brand new track. Paul Stanley seems to have done some kind of 'Benjamin Button' reverse ageing thing with his vocals because he sounds every bit as energetic as he did back in their 70's heyday. Tommy Thayer too has slotted in nicely as an Ace Frehley replacement but without all the 'space' and its associated discordant rambling solos. This is obvious single material, if such things exist anymore, and is Kiss at their best. They've remarkably managed to summon the best attributes of their past without sounding dated, while at the same time making it all sound relevant to now—brilliant.
Yes I know (Nobody's Perfect)
Simmons's rumbling bass drives this fairly standard Kiss number along in a way that it hasn't for years (apparently he was really motivated in the studio) Not just that, he sings too, and tunefully does it. Chunky and not overly overdriven guitar combined with that satisfying emphasis on bass give this a solid feel with some more good-time, tail chasing lyrics, as you'd expect...

KISS SONIC BOOM TO BE REALEASED BY ROADRUNNER IN EUROPE?

Lately Geoff Barton from Classic Rock Magazine was invited to an exclusive preview of the new Kiss album with Doc McGhee, KISS’s manager.Geoff stated that "Sonic Boom will be released in Europe on a soon-to-be-announced record label – Classic Rock knows the name of the label, but is sworn to secrecy. Suffice to say, its identity might surprise you!" Currently SONIC BOOM is lsited on hmv.com among rock music coming soon, the CD apparently will be sold with the bonus DVD (Quilmes Rock 2009) only, no words about the re-recorded 15 track CD.

NEW KISS RELEASE "BEST ALBUM IN 30 YEARS" (from examiner.com)

Paul Stanley, the iconic frontman of the legendary rock entity KISS, told the Associated Press recently that the band's first new album in 11 years - titled Sonic Boom - is "bar none our best album in 30 years, if not our best album period." Stanley went on to describe the high level of commitment displayed by the entire line-up (Gene Simmons - bass/vocals, Tommy Thayer - lead guitar, Eric Singer - drums) during the creation of Sonic Boom as something the band lacked in one way or another with the last couple of albums. "Everybody worked their tails off to contribute 100 percent of their effort," he said, "and their ability to make this the great KISS that not only do the fans deserve, but we deserve." Sonic Boom will be released exclusively at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores on October 6th, with pre-orders at WalMart.com starting in September. A three-disc package retailing for $12, the release will include 11 new songs, 15 re-recorded KISS classics such as "Detroit Rock City" and "Love Gun", and a 6-song live DVD shot in Argentina this past April as part of the KISS Alive 35 tour. A one-minute clip of "Modern Day Delilah", one of the new songs, can be streamed below. The cover for Sonic Boom was created by Michael Dorat, the artist responsible for the cover of 1976's classic album Rock and Roll Over. With the music returning to the classic KISS era, the band wanted the album artwork to also reflect their classic rock and roll roots. To celebrate the release of Sonc Boom, KISS will be playing a special concert in Detroit at Cobo Arena on Friday, September 25th. Cobo Arena, the historic structure in which the shows that would become KISS' Alive! album were recorded, is scheduled for closure. Buckcherry will be the opening act. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 21, at 5:00pm and can be purchased at the band's official website, OlympiaEntertainment.com, or Ticketmaster. Prices will range from $25 to $128, KISS Army pre-sale at www.kissonline.com

MICHAEL DORET TALKS KISS COVER WITH KISSMASKWEBZINE (by J.Frank Hagan)

Michaeal Doret is getting a lot of media coverage after the SONIC BOOM cover has been revealed, KISSMask talked with him lately, here some excerpt:

KM Since KISS was going back to their roots for the music for the album, it was the same premise for the artwork as well?
MD Yes, Exactly. This is something Paul definitely was pushing for when we discussed where to go with the album art. That's one of the reasons he reached out to me after all of these years. Rock and Roll Over became something that represented, for them, a pivotal moment in their music. I think they wanted me to evoke the same aesthetic sense on Sonic Boom as I had on Rock and Toll Over-- something that acknowledged their hard rock roots.
KM You said that creating an iconic cover was not your goal on this project, how were you album [able?] to keep that out of the picture after already creating ROCK AND ROLL OVER which is already iconic?
MD Creating something "iconic" is not an attainable goal. A good analogy would be that a person cannot set out to be a superstar. All you can do is work the hardest, be as great as you can be and have passion for what you do. You might attain that "Superstar" status, but it's not up to you. You put your art, no matter what it is, out there for people to respond to. All I can do is set out to create the best album cover that I can. After that, it's out of my hands. That said, I'm pleased with the art and people have been very receptive.

THE RETURN OF KISS #3 (by Michael Doret)

In developing and refining my pencil sketch for Sonic Boom I wasn’t completely happy with how the background was working with the diamond shape and the positioning and scale of the lightning border (a small nod to RaRO). I also wanted to play up the idea of something shattering (i.e. from a sonic boom). So I came up with the semi-abstract idea of concentric circles rippling outward like water, only breaking up incrementally into smaller and smaller segments as they expanded, changing the background color from violet to black. It seemed like a fairly simplistic idea, so I tried it and it worked. It also seemed to serve well to both ground and amplify the light beams emanating from the center, which break through the faces. I went through several color iterations, ending with one that had a dark red bleed border. I showed that version to Paul. He looked at it for a minute and then suggested we just change the border to black. We both agreed that this worked better, finishing the design process on this piece. WALMART TO SELL KISS'S FIRST NEW MUSIC IN 11 YEARS (www.bloomberg.com)
Aug. 17 (Bloomberg) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc., the world’s largest retailer, will offer a $12 CD set with rock band Kiss’s first new music in 11 years, and plans to expand into other merchandise licensed by the group. The collection will go on sale Oct. 6 exclusively at Walmart and Sam’s Club stores in the U.S. and Canada, said Tom Welch, senior music buyer at Walmart, in an interview Aug. 13. The set includes “Sonic Boom,” an 11-track compact disc with new material; a greatest-hits album with titles such as “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “I Was Made for Loving You;” and a DVD of a live concert in Buenos Aires. Exclusive deals with retailers typically give artists more money than a traditional record contract, while helping chains such as Walmart and Target Corp. get more customers to the stores. Kiss joins the Eagles, Guns N’ Roses, AC/DC and Pearl Jam in striking deals with retailers to distribute music. “This is the world we live now where the artists get a much bigger percentage of sales,” said Steve Gordon, a music industry attorney in New York. Walmart, based in Bentonville, Arkansas, declined to disclose financial details of the Kiss release. The company reached similar deals with The Eagles, AC/DC and Journey. Target, based in Minneapolis, is exclusively releasing Pearl Jam’s new record, “The Fixer,” and Best Buy Co. put out Guns N’ Roses’ “Chinese Democracy.” ITunes Gains Walmart was surpassed last year by Apple Inc.’s iTunes as the biggest music retailer in the U.S., an indication of the ongoing consumer shift to digital purchases. U.S. sales of CDs and other physical music products dropped 31 percent last year, while digital sales increased 17 percent, according to the International Federation of Phonographic Industry. Walmart shares have declined 8 percent this year. They were the best performer on the Dow Jones Industrial Average in 2008. The stock fell 22 cents to $51.57 at 4 p.m. in New York Stock Exchange composite trading. Kiss, which started in the early 1970s as a New York-based rock band called Wicked Lester, is still led by its co-founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Over 32 years, Kiss has recorded 36 albums and sold more than 75 million copies, according to its Web site, http://www.kissonline.com. The band drew attention for its costumes and face paint, smoking guitars and fireworks on stage. Its site sells items such as Kiss baby jumpers, wine, 11-inch rubber footballs, necklaces, shoes and mugs. In May, Kiss performed on News Corp.’s Fox television show American Idol, the most-watched primetime program in the U.S. The Kiss Brand “I’ve been impressed with the way the Kiss brand has been able to reinvent itself over the years,” said Greg Hall, 38, Walmart’s vice president of media and services. “I’d say the Walmart mom loves Kiss and looks fondly back on that as one of the first concerts she went to.” Sales at U.S. stores open at least a year fell 1.2 percent in the quarter that ended July 31, Walmart said last week. The retailer had forecast them to be little changed or to rise as much as 3 percent. Eduardo Castro-Wright, the head of Walmart’s U.S. stores division, attributed the drop in part to consumers being more selective in buying discretionary items and to stronger-than- expected declines in grocery prices. He spoke during a recorded earnings call last week. Walmart plans to sell Kiss merchandise other than the new CD/DVD set, Hall said. The specifics of those products are still being worked out, he said. “As we talked to other merchants within Walmart, they’re just as excited about this as the music team is whether it be toys or apparel or candy,” said the music buyer Welch, 34.
“They’re saying this brand resonates with Walmart customers.”

KISS “BORN AGAIN” WITH WALMART’S “SONIC BOOM”: BAND TALKS NEW LP (www.rollingstone.com)
“Is there any way to play it back on a man’s level?” says Gene Simmons, requesting more volume and rolling his eyes at Conway Studios in Los Angeles. Kiss are finishing up Sonic Boom, the band’s first new studio album in 11 years, and the God of Thunder wants to hear the songs played back at maximum loudness. The band announced today that the 11-song Sonic Boom will be released October 6th in the U.S. and Canada exclusively in Walmart stores. The album will be part of a three-disc set that includes a CD of re-recorded greatest hits and a live DVD from a recent tour stop in Buenos Aires. “The world’s biggest retailer,” Simmons boasts in a statement, “had better get ready for the hottest band in the world and hire more cashiers.” The band will celebrate the new LP at a September 25th gig at Detroit’s Cobo Arena. Back at the studio, Simmons and lifetime musical partner Paul Stanley radiate supreme confidence as they reveal the new songs, which reflect the same charged in-your-face sensibility, if not the actual sound, of their classic ’70s work. The album was produced by Stanley and is the first to feature the current lineup of guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer (who replaced founding members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss early this decade). Kiss have remained active as a hugely successful touring act around the world, but the new album is a surprise from a band that hasn’t released a studio album since the disappointing Psycho Circus in 1998. “We tried to do a Kiss album, and it was an ill-fated attempt because there was no real band,” says Stanley, relaxing behind the control board at Conway, his shirt opened to a chest of medallions and chains. “For a band to make a great album, it has to share a common purpose, and we didn’t have it.” In the years since, the lucrative Kiss licensing juggernaut rolled on, both Simmons and Stanley released solo albums, and the Simmons family became reality TV stars. And Kiss played the old hits to massive audiences around the planet. “Things happen when they’re ready,” says Stanley. “We couldn’t have made this album without Eric and Tommy. I’ve known Eric now for 20 years. He’s been in and out of the band, and the best times are when he’s in.” The Kiss Merchandising Machine: Check out Kollectibles from M&M’s to Mr. Potato Heads. Kiss started jamming and collecting song ideas in December, and by the spring began recording as a band live in the studio to analog tape. “Modern Day Delilah” is classic hard rock with thundering guitars and a wailing Stanley vocal. There’s a ’70s guitar grind to “Yes I Know (Nobody’s Perfect),” and thundering pop hooks within “Russian Roulette,” as Simmons sings, “You got me where you want me . . . take a bite,” before unleashing a ripping Thayer solo. “The great thing about these tunes is that we can reproduce them live. Just four guys,” says Simmons, standing in black leather and cowboy boots with silver tips. “We don’t have to prove anything to anybody. All the nay-sayers who didn’t understand it, we walk on their graves in our 8-inch platform heels. If you want to say rebirth or born again, you’re goddamn right. There’s a sense of pride here. When you get up onstage with these guys, you look over and you go, ‘Wow, I’m in Kiss.’

CLASSIC ROCK GETS EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW OF NEW KISS ALBUM (thx Johnny)
Classic Rock can confirm that the new Kiss album will be called Sonic Boom – and we’ve got the full tracklisting. Not only that, but we’ve heard six of the album’s 11 songs!
Classic Rock’s Geoff Barton was invited to an exclusive preview of the new Kiss album this past Friday (August 14), in the convivial company of Doc McGhee, the band’s manager.
“Kiss promised to deliver a back-to-their-roots album and that’s exactly what we’ve got,” Barton reports.“Recorded in the old-fashioned, analogue way, it sounds spectacularly good – no ProTools nonsense in evidence here.
“The interesting thing is, it’s not simply a homage to the band’s first few albums. There are even nods to records such as [1982’s] Creatures Of The Night, which had Vinnie Vincent, Bob Kulick and others guesting on guitar.
“Kiss seem to have cleverly combined the best of all their eras into a single winning package.” McGhee confirmed that Sonic Boom will be available exclusively through Wal-Mart, Walmart.com and Sam’s Club stores in the US and Canada, as part of a package including a completely re-recorded greatest hits CD (previously available in Japan) plus a live DVD shot in Argentina during the Kiss Alive 35 South American tour.
Sonic Boom will be released in Europe on a soon-to-be-announced record label – Classic Rock knows the name of the label, but is sworn to secrecy. Suffice to say, its identity might surprise you!
The CD set will retail for just $12 on the other side of the pond. “I actually wanted to make Sonic Boom available as a download for a dollar, but I was overruled,” McGhee chuckled.
“I still think it’s a great idea. Millions of people would’ve downloaded it, I guarantee. At just a dollar a throw, it would’ve been the bargain of the century.”
McGhee is delighted that Kiss decided to play to their strengths on Sonic Boom. “It’s exactly want people want: the classic Kiss sound played by the band looking like they’ve always done: Starchild, Demon, Spaceman and Kitty Kat. “Kiss are like James Bond or Mickey Mouse. They’re not simply a band, they’re a remarkable brand. They’re timeless; they’re part of the fabric of rock’n'roll and they’ll likely go on forever.“When I took over management of Kiss in the mid-1990s, that was my major plan: to get the band back to basics. They needed to recognise – and capitalise on – their core strengths.
“I mean,” McGhee laughed, “when Kiss had a squirrel in their line-up – what was the hell was that all about?” McGhee also revealed that Kiss will celebrate the release of Sonic Bloom with a special concert on September 25 at Cobo Arena in Detroit.

THE RETURN OF KISS (by Michael Doret)

When Paul Stanley came by my studio to discuss how to proceed on the art for the cover of their upcoming CD/DVD package “Sonic Boom”, I had no idea what to expect. I hadn’t met with him since working on Rock and Roll Over, and had very little memory of what that had been like. Any anxiety I had melted away when we started talking. Paul is a “gentlemen’s gentleman” and I immediately felt at ease talking with him—as if all those years had not intervened since the last time we had spoken....the the rest at this location

EDDIE TRUNK TALS ABOUT KISS, ACE, BRUCE AND PETER NEXT RELEASES

Ciao Eddie!!!
One year later I'm back to you and...what a year had been for KISS fans! KISS new album is around the corner, Ace's Anomaly is like a rocket ready to ride, Bruce's BK3 practically done and I heard also about a possible new album from Peter!!! What are your thoughts and expections for KISS, Ace and Bruce highly anticipated new albums?

I think clearly the Kiss album will have the bigggest marketing and name value and the highest profile. All reports are it will be part of an exclusive deal with a major retail outlet here in the USA, something acts like Journey and AC/DC have already done to great success. I have not heard a note of the CD so really no idea what it will sound like. Tommy and Eric are both great players so I have no doubt the musicianship will be solid. Kiss's music over the years has had many turns and directions so it should be interesting to see where they go. I'll have a hard time looking at a Kiss album with the image of Ace and Peter on it though. I just don't get why they don't give Tommy and Eric their own identity, but I will listen with an open mind.
Ace's album I heard and it's solid. Ace is not going to reinvent the wheel.
You know what you will get with him and it's pretty much what Kiss/Ace fans will want and love. Straight up no nonsense hard rock. The biggest thing about Ace's album is his vocal. He is singing better than he has in a long time because he's sober. I also advised him on the lead track from the CD and think the first single "Outer Space" is a perfect first single.
Listening to BK's album as I type this. Sounds real good and has Gene as a guest. Bruce is a great player but outside of the hard core Kiss fans he is a somewhat under the radar guy. His music doesn't rely so much on the Kiss formula. I think he did the smart thing getting many guests on the album and showcasing his playing. He will have the toughest road selling the CD just because of the lower level of awareness for him outside the Kiss world and in the mainstream.

Have you heard too about a new Rock&roll album from the old Pete?
Peter told me a while ago he had a rock record ready but no idea where thatstands. Kiss fans are loyal to Peter but the music that is most in his heart is not what Kiss fans want to hear, so It's harder for him.
You recently hosted Ace on your radio show, did he mentioned to you of a possible Anomaly European tour?
He wants to tour everywhere he told me. I'm sure it will all come down to where the most interest from promoters is. Like any tour.
Well and what's on your side? What about your projects and business?
I'm still doing two live national radio shows. One on satellite on Sirius/XM and one on FM radio live from New York City and syndicated to others. The way the landscape for radio is in NYC I'm pretty sure my show will be the only outlet for airplay for Kiss, Ace or BK in their hometown, but I'm happy to fill that void for the Kiss fans. I am also now gearing up to shoot the third season of my TV show for VH1 Classic called "That Metal Show". We are booking guests now and have some great stuff lined up. The show has been a big hit and we have all new shows coming in October. My website recently launched a members side and for a small fee you can hear my radio shows and interviews both on audio and video so come see me at
www.EddieTrunk.com
Eddie, thanks again for your time and your love for the good music!!!
Keep in touch!
Fabio

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEUCENEWS!!!!
August 12 2008, DeuceNews was born…. practically from nothing (I didn’t even know how to manage a website!), most probably from my deepest desire to see a KISS related webzine that talked my language, too. One year has passed and this small site, the one and only Italian KISS webzine, has gone from less then 1.000 hits a month to more then 7.000 in the latest months, with more then 73.000 pages seen so far and skyrocketed in the TOP 10 music related Italian sites chart according to shinystat.com.
Throughout exclusive interviews and first hand news I tried to create a direct connection between KISS and the Italian KISS Army. Among many interviews conducted so far I’m proud to list Bruce Kulick, Eddie Trunk, Lydia Criss, Rafael Moreira, Curt Cuomo, Mark St. John’s sister Kathleen, Michael Doret, Eric McKenna, Michael Brandvold, Nicola Ciccarone, Barbara Caserta, Luca Calabrese, Denis O’Regan, Luigi Schiavone, Jeff Rich, Greg Prato and the most famous and great Italian
KISS Cover/Tribute band in Italy.
DeuceNews news and pictures were hosted also on official KISS sites like Kissonline.com,  PaulStanley.com , GeneSimmons.com , Kulick.net and Eric-Singer.com several times; just two days ago many of you have seen DeuceNews interview with Michael Doret being posted on
Kissonline...

What can I say…thanks to all of you that love my little creature, to all the webmasters of the KISS related sites around the net that accepted me in their world, I promise you all I’ll do my best to give you the BEST!!! A special thanks goes to Luca Calabrese who has been the first one to believe in this project, to J.Frank Hagan, Márcio Augusto and Philip DeVille for their great friendship and support, to Bruce Kulick, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer for their down to earth attitude and of  course to Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley for having created the hottest band in the world, to Peter Criss & Ace Frehley, Eric Carr R.I.P., Vinnie Cusano, Mark St. John R.I.P. for being part of this great never ending story.
Stay tuned and rock on!!!
Fabio "Deuce" Mainardi

Dear DeuceNews readers, the great day is coming! Let's try to go a little deeper in this new step in KISSTORY learning how the new cover was born and developped! Here an excerpt of the exclusive interview conducted with Michael Doret and that you can read it all here

Hi Michael!! Hello Fabio!

We all know that this will be a Paul Stanley’s creature as he is the only producer of the album; Gene Simmons said the album title came out from a Paul’s idea/vision. Did he came to you with a clear indication or title to develop the cover or did you showed him some sketches to be worked out?
Paul came to me with the title of the album. We talked about the "look" he wanted this cover to have. We talked about how the other cover I had done for them, "Rock and Roll Over", really had become iconic and now represented KISS' music from that early period. He talked about how he'd like the new cover to to be suggestive of that look, because they wanted the music in the new album to be more reflective of that time and, of their roots in hard rock. He also stipulated that I needed to use existing photography of the four members instead of creating graphic caricatures (which is what I did in RARO). So that was my challenge: create another iconic cover that would also be reflective in some way of the previous cover.

ROCKING FOR THE BOXERS (By Christian Gaston - The Forest Grove News-Times)
Tommy Thayer effortlessly frets the slinky guitar intro of“California Dreaming,” then the full band strikes a thunderous A minor as Will Evankovich and Jack Blades chime in with the first line: “All the leaves are brown.”
The 1960s classic from the Mamas and the Papas was just one of more than a dozen hits put together more or less on the fly by a group of musicians that span decades and genres for the Pacific Legends benefit concert and golf tournament.
Thayer, a member of KISS and a Pacific University trustee, runs the show, having invited a gaggle of his friends to the annual fundraiser.

Tommy Thayer oltre ad aver organizzato e partecipato al Pacific Legends benefit concert and golf tournament ha dato prova della sua abilità con le 6 corde jammando con altri musicisti in una fantastica carrellata di classici pazzi rock a partire daCalifornia Dreaming dei Mamas and the Papas. KISS NEW ALBUM + RE-RECORDED DISK + DVD OUT ON OCTOBER THE 6th

According to Melodic Rock KISS new album due Oct 6 thru WalMart with new material will be part of a package including re-records disc (Jigoku Retsuden", orginally released in Japan) and a DVD (possibly the ALIVE35 Down-under Tour). Same deal as Journey and Foreigner. Almost one month ago (July the 6th) Deucenews reported that SONIC BOOM would have been considered as a possible album title (SONIC BOOM is a registered trademark own by KISS). And rumors on the net now seem confirming such news. Recently Guitar Player Magazine editor published a review of 5 KISS new songs and he admitted that the title they had on the studio TV monitors while they were playing the audio files was SONIC BOOM. Such title has not yet been confirmed by the band.

Successful rock band KISS travel to Australia and New Zealand for their Alive 35 tour. Concerts in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Wellington - full HD coverage with up to 8 cameras at each concert.
The Kiss Alive 35 tour will be released on DVD.
