DEUCE'N'VIEWS

LUIGI SCHIAVONE

Hi Luigi!
I'll start from where I'll end up: I thank you!
As I said you it is really a long time time that I listen tp your music.
I always thought that your playing Was the emblem of the Italian rock, with your the innate ability of putting in your guitar liks romantics touches and rough chords with the typical aggressiveness of the guitar heroes (what a word!) .
Can you tell us where you come from and who were the guitarists who have been as trawlers and encouragement to develop your style?
The guitarist who has struck me in the true sense of the word was Alvin Lee in his legendary performance of "I'm going home", Woodstock 1969 ... I realized from there that I would have played the guitar ...
Soon after Angus Young, still one of my favorite guitarists and Blackmore ....
I suffered another shock after listening to "A night at the Opera" by Queen...it was the first time I listened to such kind of guitar... And Brian May has become another reference point.
In the'70s Gibson and Ibanez conquered the world of rock.
What equipment do you use? Are you fond of any particular models?
I had all kinds of guitars during the course of my career,  ... then I have devoted to Gibson. I have a partnership with the Schecter however, and a model in particular, the S-1 Elite corresponds fully to my needs.
I have some thirty guitars.
Those that are most fond are a Gibson SG Standard from' 68 and a 1978 Gibson Explorer.

Many of us know you as the guitarist of Enrico Ruggeri.
What's it like working with him and how you interact in writings and recordings with him?
After almost 30 years of collaboration ... not much to say ... we know eacother and we continue to work together despite two diametrically opposed characters. Perhaps the secret of the longevity of our relationship is just that!
I called you in the the wolf lair and I can't avoid to ask a comment about KISS.
What do you think of these four older gentlemen who still want to mask thermself and go around the world playing music?
I loved KISS, bought their receords (including the four solos, I consider Paul Stanley a masterpiece!) And I continued to appreciate for the "genuine" way  to play their music ...
Certainly tey reach  their perfect habitat while perfroming live... still at a very high "audiovisual" impact...
... So long life to KISS!
Do you have a dream or a desire to play or to cooperate with some foreign artist?
Well, I'd like to spend a day with Angus and his brother Malcolm!
Projects in the coming future?
I always in my yard the instrumental album ... but, as often happens, other projects with Enrico delayed the work...
I hope, however, to complete it in 2009, for my 50 years! :-)
As I promised, I thank you for the time you have dedicated to me (us), thanks for your music and I hope to see you soon.
Thanks to you Fabio.
See you soon!
Luigi
